RIP A LIP is a commonly used phrase that refers to catching a fish. However, it is so much more. It’s a lifestyle for all fisherman centered around fishing, family and fun. To find out if RIP A LIP is right for you just answer a few questions:
Is your boat always ready to go?
After a stressful day does fishing relax your troubles away?
Is a day with the family synonymous with a day on the water?
Do you want to grab an ice chest and some fishing poles and
go the beach right now?
Does fishing make you feel like you’re in another world?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions then you are living
the RIP A LIP lifestyle.
Rip A Lip Fish Wear was founded in 2011 by two families who love to fish the marshes, inlets, and bayous of the Gulf Coast, hoping to bag their limit of red fish, speckled trout, flounder and other native species. Rip A Lip provides top quality products that are also great looking from ship to shore. Produced in Waveland, Mississippi, most of all Rip a lip products feature the original art work of popular Gulf Coast artist, Scott Blackwell. Each work of art is created specifically for Rip A Lip and seeks to celebrate the excitement and culture of fishing everywhere.
Rip A Lip has a simple and humble beginning. One Sunday after church one of our founders asked another parishioner what he had planned for the beautiful afternoon. As was the norm, his friend planned to “rip a lip” out on the water. The two friends joked about what a good slogan that would make for a t-shirt. The seed had been planted. The two friends set out to create a brand unlike any other in the industry. The goal was simple: cultivate a lifestyle dedicated to fishing, family and fun.
Rip A Lip wouldn’t be here today without the love and support of our families. The idea to use bright colors and designs even came from one of our teenage daughters. According to this spunky 15-year-old, this was a great way to appeal to women and teens. She was right! Our first shirt was introduced to local retailers in the summer of 2012 and the bright colors started flying off shelves. Our fan base continued to grow and soon the demand was so high we couldn’t keep up. Two more families joined the team to take Rip A Lip to the next level.
